Bukhara plum is a type of golden plum that is known as gold drop plum. Its habitat is in the northeastern, northwestern regions of the country and the mountainous regions of some central provinces.

The reason why this type of plum is called (Bukhara) is because this plum was mostly cultivated in Khorasan and gained its fame from there.

How to prepare Aloo Bukhara

To prepare it, after being picked and washed, plums are poured into goat pots and cooked with water and salt. As soon as it boils, it is taken out of the pot and poured on a flat surface to dry a little with air and then it is packed.

Plum producers use two methods to preserve it for a long time, which is mostly hidden from the customer.

1- Use of salt: Due to the fact that plums rot like other fruits, salt is used when cooking plums to prevent it from spoiling. This method is natural and no additives other than salt are added to plums.

2- The use of chemicals such as: acid, sulfates, benzoates and carbon dioxide, which are added to them after boiling plums.

Diagnosis method: If the plum is brown, crimson or dark brown in color and the taste is sour and salty, this plum is natural. Pay attention that natural plum does not have the pure taste of plum and should feel a little saltiness.

If the plum is yellow or light brown in color and only the taste of plum without salt is felt, it is possible that there are harmful additives in it.
